Sustainable Vermicompost Solutions

What began as a modest hobby farm aimed at keeping us engaged and producing a product we could trust for growing healthy food has blossomed into a dedicated vermicomposting venture. Our initial goal was simple: stay active and cultivate something beneficial. However, as we delved deeper, opportunities for scaling our operations naturally emerged.

A pivotal moment in our journey was forming a partnership with a local food bank. They provided us with spent produce, which served as nourishment for our worms. This collaboration was to sustain our composting process but also divert organic waste from landfills, contributing to environmental conservation. We still work with a local food bank, but only take the cardboard. Worm to Farm adapted our method to create a healthier solution for our worms and ourselves. Our worms are now fed fresh food grown directly from the farm. The vermicompost is returned to the farm and our customers. Worm to Farm is now branching into growing greens for pets starting this fall 2025.

🌼 Flowerbeds & Houseplants

Enhance the vibrancy of your flowers and the health of your indoor plants with our vermicompost products.

      •     Top Dressing: Apply a thin layer of vermicompost around the base of plants to provide a slow-release nutrient source. 

      •     Soil Amendment: Mix vermicompost into potting soil to improve structure, moisture retention, and nutrient content.

      •     Vermicompost Tea: Use as a gentle, organic fertilizer for regular watering, promoting lush growth without the risk of over-fertilization. 

🌱 Lawns & Yards

Application   Instructions

Feeding   Frequency

New Annuals and Perennials - 1 in. Set plant in place and top dress with  soil - 1/4 cup every 4-6 weeks

Flower Beds - Cover desied area with 1/2 in. of worm castings every 4-6  weeks

Existing Perennials - 1/2 cup Work into the soil above the root zone,   taking care not to damage shallow roots 1/2 cup every 4-6 weeks

Vegetable   Seeds - 1/2 in. Place   castings in seed furrows, set seeds in place, and top dress with soil  1/4 cup per   plant every 4-6 weeks

Vegetable Plants (i.e., tomato &   pepper) 1 in. Set plant in place and top dress with soil 1/4 cup every 4-6 weeks

Established Potted Plants 1-part castings to 4 parts potting soil Cover top of soil area with 1/2 in. of castings, mix in taking care not to damage shallow roots Every 4-6   weeks

New Shrubs 1 in. Place mix into pots, add plants as normal 1 cup every 4-6 weeks

Existing Shrubs 1 cup Work into the soil above the root zone, taking care not to damage shallow roots 1 cup every   4-6 weeks

Tea (spray mix) 1/4 cup per gallon Soak castings in water overnight. Stir   well and water as usual. (Excellent for fruiting, flowering, or hard-to-reach   potted plants.) As needed

Flower Beds 1/2 in.
